Local Youth Participation Events
YouDecide organizes a series of youth participation activities, events, and one mobility to foster active engagement among young people in European policy-making processes. These initiatives aim to empower youth, enhance their political participation, and develop their skills in public policymaking.
Youth Participation Events
Event 1: Workshop Youth Empowerment Through Civic Education.
Title: Youth empowerment through civic education.
The total number of participants will be 100 (mixed youth and decision makers). It will develop a set of recommendations for revising civic education curricula to better appeal to youth, trained young journalists, and set up a social media group ‘Europe4Youth’. It will also be analyse the greater national attention to youth issues, which is evident in the General Secretariat for Youth’s decision to develop a youth policy.
Event 3: Debate in Portugal
Title: Dialogue of youth-representatives of youth councils and decision makers.
The total number of participants will be 40. It will be discussed a variety of topics related to youth councils and the participation of young people, workshops held by youth from youth councils and youth workers, and an open agenda where participants can get to know different youth councils, talk to policymakers, and make their voices heard.
The main topics will be:
1.How youth policy can be decided at European, national and regional level?
2.How the youth voices could be heard from the local to the European level, in coherent policy processes?
3.Are the european politics neutral, in order to represent all young people and organize large-scale actions?
4.How can be ensured that the European values are perfectly transferred to youth policies?

Event 4: Youth Lab in Serbia
Title: Youth Lab of the functioning of democratic institutions and the roles of decision-makers.
The total number of participants will be 40.
The main topics will be:
1.What are our democratic institutions?
2.How can young citizens participate in the decision-making process of the EU Policy making?
3.What is democratic framework?
4.How adaptations to existing democratic institutions could further improve the functioning of participatory democracy while also delivering additional economic benefits to youth and society as whole?
